Powell River, British Columbia Moving Companies
North American Van Lines: A Powell River mover capable of exceeding all of your unique moving needs.
Located across the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, the coastal city of Powell River is situated mostly around the eastern shores of the province, with its local geography giving rise to something of a remote location in comparison with the neighboring southward province of Vancouver—fjords on either side of the city prevent the construction of a single, consistent road, necessitating something of a detour when traversing from the coastal city to neighboring provinces. This has given rise to an interesting characteristic of Powell River becoming known as a remote community, despite its relative proximity to major neighboring communities across the British Columbia coast (and to a lesser extent Vancouver).
Early development of the area now known as Powell River began largely as something of a port or landing zone for transient gold prospectors throughout the 19th century—within decades, the small settlement began housing the development of logging and pulp mill companies that utilized the large timber the area offered. The presence of pulp and paper production continued to expand throughout the 20th century, eventually culminating with the Powell River pulp mill accounting for over 4% of the newspapers in distribution throughout the globe—a major quantity of circulation on an international scale, and no easy task for a mill situated in a relatively small and remote British Columbia town during a time of fledgling urban development.
