Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland Moving Companies
North American Van Lines: The Grand Falls-Windsor moving company with an undeniable array of professional resources
Situated in central Newfoundland, the town of Grand Falls-Windsor serves as the largest overall of the central region (and the fifth largest overall in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador), reigning in a population of roughly 14,000. The history of Grand Falls-Windsor dates back to the mid-1700s, with its initial namesake originating from the colloquially named “Grand Falls” waterfall that served as a central point for the area. Much time passed between this discovery and the beginnings of development in the local region. Because of this reason, an interest in establishing Grand Falls as a town was not generated until the beginnings of the 20th century. Its location served as a prime area for the establishment of a paper mill due to its proximity to ample lumber supply, fresh water, and other natural resources. Over time, this initial spark of industry gave rise to a steady stream of migrant workers and eventual settlers that populated and expanded upon the fledgling hamlet and allowed it to become something of a central hub of the Newfoundland region.
As the 20th century progressed, interest in recreational pursuits ranging from team sports (including hockey, baseball and more) to musical performance began to cultivate in and around the hub town, with a variety of drama clubs and musical groups being established in a short period of time. The town was eventually incorporated after the election of a municipal government, and the formerly separate neighboring communities of Grand Falls and Windsor, which had developed alongside each other, were soon amalgamated into the joint community that it is today.
