Cobourg, Ontario Moving Companies
North American Van Lines: The Cobourg Moving Company with the Widest Range of Resources to be Utilized for you and your Family’s Move
Located in the region of Southern Ontario, the town of Cobourg exists somewhat far off from other major metropolitan cities of the province. The nearest neighbors of the town include the cities of Oshawa and Toronto, despite the fact that the pair respectively rest 62 kilometres and 95 kilometres away from Cobourg’s city center. Cobourg exists as something of a regional centre for the Hamilton Township, however, and the township roughly envelopes the town on three sides.
The early history of what is now Cobourg originated largely from United Empire Loyalist (English speaking settlers relocating following the American Revolution) settlements in the late 18th century, with the earliest settlers of the area including prominent figures such as Zacheus Burnham. What is now a town served effectively as a collection of small villages in close proximity, eventually going on to become the central meeting point of the Newcastle District. The modern title of Cobourg came about in the early 19th century after the hub had served as a central meeting ground around the Lake Ontario harbour for some time. Prominent cultural centres originating from historical Cobourg include the Diocesan Theological Institute.
Other points of interest across Cobourg that have stood the test of time include Victoria Hall—the official town hall, which has stood since its construction in 1860. A number of other buildings and structures across the town serve as National Historic Sites and Conservation Districts as well. A modern wonder of Cobourg, however, is its substantial quantity of high quality outdoor parks, which house a number of festivals and events throughout the year, including the Cobourg Waterfront Festival, which has attracted visitors from across Ontario and beyond in recent years.
Moving to the town of Cobourg can make for a smart move for your family for any number of good reasons. Whatever the reason, you’ll be able to rest assured that opting for the assistance of North American Van Lines will mean that your family will be able to relax along the way and focus on enjoying the more memorable aspects of your move, while leaving the headache to us.
